Nursery 2018 - 2019

We can’t believe we have reached the summer term! The staff are so proud of how our very youngest children in the school have begun to develop into little confident and independent learners. We all have a great understanding of the expectations in the Foundation Stage Unit and this term we will be polishing ourselves up ready for our move into reception in September.
We love to learn both inside and out and we have reached the time of year when the mini-beasts will be around, ready for us to come and find them. We will join in with our friends in the reception class when we take part in The Wildlife Trust’s ‘Go Wild in June’, developing the children’s love of the outdoors with lots of fun activities.
We have a busy term ahead of us with our friends in reception as we will be joining in with the English traditions of St George’s Day and May Day. In June we have an exciting day planned at Reddish Vale Farm. We hope the sun shines for us as we find out all about the animals that live there.
One of the many advantages of being in a Foundation Stage Unit means that it will be easy for us to provide lots of opportunities for the children to practice being ‘reception children’ in readiness for their step up to ‘big school’ in September.
