Safeguarding

The safety and well being of our pupils is at the heart of our work. All staff complete Effective Safeguarding training and the members of the leadership team who lead safeguarding are:

Miss Jean Willerton, Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Mrs Nina Mowforth, Deputy Headteacher & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

Mrs Lucy Lomas, Key Stage 1 Lead, SENCo & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

If you have any safeguarding concerns about a child who attends Mottram St. Andrew Primary Academy, then these are the people you can talk to, either in person or by telephoning the school on 01625 917870.

Concerns can also be reported to the Cheshire East Consultation Service (CHECS). Contact details are available on the Cheshire East website: Cheshire East Consultation Service (CHECS)

Our comprehensive Safeguarding Policy can be downloaded below.

Operation Encompass

Our school participates in a police-led initiative called Operation Encompass, a scheme which ensures that we can support any child where a domestic incident has been reported to police from their home. Following a domestic incident, the police make contact with the school and communicate relevant information to nominated school staff. This ensures that we are made aware early enough to support children.

You can find out more about Operation Encompass on their website: Operation Encompass

Online Safety

Online safety is an important aspect of keeping children safe and is a key component of our curriculum.

Parenting in a digital world can be tough. The guide below 'Parenting in a Digital World' aims to provide support for parents in ensuring that children are safe online.
