The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It’s designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers.
In 2017-18, we received £17000 in pupil premium grant. This was higher than last year as we have a few more qualifying children. Our Provision Maps show that in general these children are supported well and are making good progress. However, there are very small numbers involved which makes year on year comparisons difficult.
Our aim is to ensure that these children make the same amount of progress as their peers and have access to the same opportunities. Support includes small group interventions, pastoral work, focused one-to-one work and access to enrichment activities.
In 2016-17, we received £10560 Pupil Premium Grant. This provided intervention work in small groups for these children where necessary. It is also providing additional teacher input, teaching assistant support in lessons, regular pastoral support and family support where needed.
