Welcome to the Autumn Term in Year 2
Welcome back to the new school year! We have lots of exciting learning planned for this term and I am very much looking forward to working with the new Year 2 class.
Our main text in English, as a focus for our writing will be Troll Swap by Leah Hodgkinson. Our final piece of writing in our unit will be to write our own version of the story remembering to use full stops and capital letters, noun phrases and conjunctions (and & because).
In geography, we will be comparing where we live with Tulum in Mexico and finding differences in the human and physical geography of the two locations.
In science, we begin with animals and will discovering what they need to survive.

- Our PE lessons are on Monday and Wednesday. Please make sure children come into school dressed in PE kit on those days.
- Please also make sure that children have a named waterproof coat in school each day even if the weather looks fine in the morning.
- Homework will be set on a Friday and will be due for completion the following Thursday.
- Spellings will be checked on a Friday morning.
- Reading books will be changed on a Tuesday and Friday.
